How to prepare for your session and protect your new ink.
Before Your Appointment
Great tattoos start before you even sit in the chair. Follow these rules to ensure the best result and a comfortable session:
Eat a Solid Meal: Never get tattooed on an empty stomach. Bring sugary snacks and drinks to keep your blood sugar up during long sessions. Stay Hydrated & Moisturize: Drink plenty of water in the days leading up to your appointment. Moisturizing the area for a week beforehand makes the skin much easier to work with. No Alcohol or Blood Thinners: Avoid alcohol and excessive caffeine for 24 hours before your session. They thin your blood, which pushes the ink out and compromises the bold colors and crisp fineline details. Dress Comfortably: Wear loose, dark clothing that allows easy access to the area being tattooed.
Healing Your Tattoo (Second Skin Method)
We use premium medical-grade protective film (second skin) to heal your tattoos flawlessly.
Leave it on: Keep the film on for 3 to 5 days. It is normal for plasma, blood, and excess ink to collect under the film. Don't panic, leave it alone. Removal: The easiest way to remove the film is in the shower under warm running water. Gently pull the film down and stretch it parallel to your skin (do not rip it off like a band-aid). Wash: Wash the tattoo gently with your clean hands using unscented, antibacterial soap (like Dial Gold). Pat dry with a clean paper towel. Never use a cloth towel. Moisturize: Apply a paper-thin layer of unscented lotion (like Lubriderm or Aquaphor) 2-3 times a day for the next two weeks. The Golden Rules: NO swimming, NO sunbeds, NO picking or scratching the scabs. Let the skin heal naturally.
